A note from Kara:
In 2019 I decided I was ready to tell my story in a way that I was proud of and knew that a documentary was the next step. I reached out to my dear friend Elizabeth Smart and asked for her recommendations for production companies. The company she recommended, MarWar, is who I went on to work with to produce this documentary. I worked with Ally and Joe through the entire production process as an executive producer from the pitches during Covid to the production and airing. It is a project that I'm proud to say shows "my" story through the eyes of many people involved and that I couldn't be more proud of. 

It is my hope, that by sharing my story, I will help others to grow and heal. This is one of the many ways I hope to do that.
